cathe gill at workCatherine Gill has lived and worked in the Pacific Northwest of the United States for 25 years, and in Toronto, Canada, and New York. She paints in watercolor, oil and pastel, works in various printmaking techniques, creates artwork for public art sites, and teaches painting and printmaking out of her studio in the Georgetown area of Seattle, throughout the United States, Europe, Asia and Australia. She is involved in many community art projects for adults and youth. Working as Art Partners,with Barbara Pitts, she conducts international cultural exchanges: Kuwait (1999), Ireland and Northern Ireland (1998, 1999), the Czech Republic (2001,2004), China (2002, 2004,2005), Slovak Republic (2003).

Her monotypes have been published “Conversation –Beyond Limited” in Shenzhen China; and an article in “Art Panorama 2006” China. Her paintings have been published in CD ROM in the Showcase of American Pastel Artists, her oils in Marine Art: A Collection Of Fine Art, (98), (Rockport Publisher); w/c article in “Artist” magazine July 2004; an article on Creativity in the Fall 2002 issue of Watercolor Magic; Artists Magazine ,Nov 2006, Mixed Media “When One Is Not Enough”; and “Spreading the Gift, The Work of Catherine Gill” in the Fall 1999 issue of Watercolor Magazine, (American Artist publication). She is currently working on a book on landscape painting with writer Beth Means. Catherine participated in Branching Out, a project sponsored by National Geographic, July 2003, involving scientists and artists jointly investigating the forest canopy.
