So many scenes to paint are very close to home, just steps away or short walks. These paintings represent what I see regularly as I go about my days, and so become familiar and have meaning because of that. Sometimes they appear in a different light and that means I must get my art gear and set up and paint them! Some scenes are painted more than once and have a very different impact each time. They are precious to me because they are familiar.
