"As an author, Cathe is organized, logical and breaks down principles to tools which empower painters to make their bestwork.

I had the pleasure of being an advance reader of her forthcoming book on landscape painting, and I know that it will be a classic text..."—Barbara Pitts

What is in the book?

Creating landscape paintings on location is fraught with complexities. Powerful Watercolor Landscapes will teach you how to come up with the good design and energetic color you need to make your paintings powerful. It has painting strategies ("power tools") that are easy and simple to remember (not to mention fun) and is illustrated with hundreds of my paintings in full color, all done on location in watercolor and mixed media (pastel into wet watercolor.)

The power tools in the book are well-tested. Many years of questions and comments from participants in my workshops helped me find tools that help painters do their best. I have refined them in decades of painting outdoors all over the world. I spent several years putting all of this in book form with the help of my co-author, writer Beth Means.

The book has 160 pages of useful information, exercises and demonstrations. Its concealed spiral binding makes it easy to keep the book open to the page you want.
